Love the unfinished neck. I wish Jackson would offer that option, in the same manner that Gibson does on the Zakk Wylde Les Paul.

The neck is just raw right now...I'm thinking about throwing a coat of oill on there...tung oil is it??

Glad your enjoying the Soloist, Im glad it's in good hands although I miss her a bit hehe. Looks like you sanded the back of the neck closer to the heel, looks great! Super Sweet RR, love the string through and the graphics.

Cool! That isn't a factory unfinished neck is it? Looks like someone may have removed the finish. Looks great though! Yea, the Tung oil is the most durable oil finish to apply IMHO!

Thanks Scott...yeah I sanded a little closer to the heel and cleaned the lines up a bit. I love the neck!
The graphic on the RR looks alot more killer in person when you can see the metallic blue in it.
The neck was stripped by the original owner...and I love it! Thanks for the info...looks like I'll grab some tung and oils that beast up! Can you find tung oil at the hardware store? Or will I hafta get some online?

go into any of those small "Unfinished furniture" shops, they always have it I did that to my Strat plus and it feels sooooo much better thatn that thick satin finish crap that Fender puts on their maple necks. Home Depot will have it as well.

It gives more protection than just oil, plus it feels very similar. Not to mention the fact that you don't have to apply more over time like you would with oil.
