Hi, I'm new here. I have a 1984 USA Jackson Soloist (J0162) thats been sitting in my closet since about 1986. I'm the original owner. I need to put it up for sale and I'm hoping there are some folks here that can give me some guidance on what I should list it for. Hope this post is not against any rules, if so, feel free to remove. Thanks in advance for your help.

Here are the pics. I bought it from Daddys Junkie Music in Dedham Ma back in '85 and played it a couple years. Never refinished. 100% as I bought it back in 85. After sitting in my closet since '86, its time to let her go. Appreciate the help! Thank you!

Cool seeing photos.
Definitely a soloist. Dot inlays make it a Student model. Dual hums was cool upgrade IMO (HSS seems boring to me).
I have an 86 Model 4 that I did the same gold and black theme.
The economy is better than it was in 2009. I'll say if you can find the right buyer, maybe $1500? The Kahler is always the worry about how much you can get.

I have an ‘89 Dinky in excellent condition. I paid $1,100 for it with OHSC.
I have a 2002 Soloist in Black with an OFR that is immaculate. I paid $1,000 for it with OHSC.
There are currently 22 1980s era Soloists available on Reverb. They are offered for between $1,000 and $3,000. They are not moving. I think $1,500 is your best case, with the right buyer. It may take a long time to find that right buyer. You simply do not know. I don’t say this to be rude, but in 1984 black, Kahlered, student models were a dime a dozen. So you don’t have an instrument that is an atypical specimen and capable of commanding a big price.
Before putting this for sale you could make the guitar a bit more eye catching. There are a lot of swirls. Nothing major, but it makes the guitar look... old and used IMO. Get some Music Nomad Guitar Polish and Carnauba wax. Polish it, then wax it. It will probably look like it just came from the factory if you do that and should generate more interest.
