I sent it out to GMW Guitarworks, and after dithering on a finish decided on Pavo Purple with a black crackle on top. Yesterday I picked it up from the FedEx pickup location.
I wrote quite a bit in my Instagram posts, but I wanted to add: I figured out what the mid-boosted EMG 81 sounded like - the X2N in my Les Paul - but the mid boosted EMG sounds clearer. With the mid-boost off, the EMG 81 sounds a lot like the Black Winter in my ESP EX. I also am now used to the new lower action and a lighter touch, so I've gone through my other guitars and lowered the action.
