I think I just bought a Jackson Junior USA Prototype!

Hey there,

So a few weeks back, this came up on my local classifieds (Kijiji here in Canada).
I just have never, ever seen a Jackson Junior USA with a Pointy headstock! So I jumped on it immediately.

Serial number reads 00 08 JJ

So I'm assuming that would mean it was the 8th one made, perhaps during the prototype phase, before they landed on the 3x3 headstock?

If anyone knows for sure, or have seen these before, I'd love to know more!
I've spent hours online, and can't find anything. Reddit wasn't too helpful, but I'll try again.

I did some digging online, and found one other JJ with a pointy headstock that was sold from a guitar shop in Russia. It's serial was 00 10 JJ.
The website is not secure, so I won't post it, but feel free to search it up on google. It comes up on the first 10 images on google images when you type in "Jackson JJ USA".

I'd think a pointy headstock JJ is a pretty rare bird, but I never paid close attention to them.

Could be a limited run for some dealer. They used to do lots of those back in the day.

Nice! They are pretty rare with the pointy headstock. I definitely remember seeing a red one.

Right on guys, thanks for checking this out. I was hoping to bug the guys at NAMM last weekend, but Jackson ended up not attending along with some other heavy hitters.

I'll try emailing them, and see. I'm just so curious! Haha.

Yes it is! Sorry for the 7 month delay, haha! It's on reverb, as well. I have been enjoying it in the meantime! Still haven't found another one since.
