  • Is this a genuine USA Jackson? If so I’ll go buy it tomorrow

According to the seller who is not the first owner, it’s from 1990s.

    nope.

    - it's got an licensed bridge on it. 1990s USA should have an schaller floyd or an OFR. Okay, hypothetically someone could swap the bridge, but 1) why? and 2) the recess route does not look like one from an OFR
    - the tuners and rest of the hardware look really crappy
    - the end of the fingerboard is super wonky
    - fret spacing looks wonky
    - headstock looks slightly off
    - headstock logo does not look like mop, but if it was painted it should be outlined, not solid

The server is being wonky on me. But this is one of those US made SL-2 models from around 1996. The pickups have been changed though. That model had the JT-580LP trem and no inlays. DOnt see them that often.

          learned something new... thanks ed.

here's a catalog picture for comparison

          pretty weird for a usa

I still think the end of the fingerboard looks weird but I guess that wouldn't be the first time something out of the usa factory had weird stuff going on

I guess they were going for the cheaper price range on those. Kinda like now with the american series.
