• Jackson KV2 Retail

I finally got a day off and made my way up to the guitar shop today to find out the price it's going to coast me for a Blue Ghost Flame KV2. I get into the shop looking around. I notice they had very little Jacksons. I think they only had one KE and 2 RR3s. I saw more Ibanez and Fenders. Yuck!!! I saw they had this big book with guitar sections labeled and found the Jackson section. I flag down one the workers to see what the pricing is. He went from one desk to another trying to find it. It look to me he isn't really fimiliar with the Jackson line. How I know this is because I walk over to him and ask him if he's having a hard time finding it. He said that he didn't know there was a KV2T in the USA Select Series. He finds with the Retail Priceat$2,999.99. I was like, WOW!! My brother looks at me and says "you have to find the expensive ones don't you". He told me to hold on so he can go talk to a guy in the back to get the official pricing. He come back with a price at $1949.99. Which is hell of a deal I mean he took off $1,050 bones. I ask what would be the specs. on the guitar and he simply shrugs his shoulders. He said he'll need half the money now if I wanted to order it. I told I'll get back to him.

What pisses me off is I have a price for a guitar that I don't even know dick about. The only positive thing I got today is the price which is good because I know how much to set aside. I just didn't know it's going to almost run me 3 grand. MAN!! That is unbelievable.. Well it isn't because Karl Sandoval wants $8,500 for a Polka Dot V which is understandable because he's taking time out his own hads to hand craft it. Oh well it look like 3 weeks or so I'll be up there with money in hand or maybe two weeks.

The price you got is fair if was a KV2T.
Check Easton's website there is one.

What I can tell you is that these retail price of USA Jackson are way too high.

The price he gave me was a KV2.. I thought it would be $1,300, but not almost $2,000.. Yeah, I agree a lot of guitars today are a bit pricey, but you can get half your money back when you sell your Jackson. So I'm not really worried about it.

Contact one of the JCF dealers - Easton, VWall, or Matt's Music - and see what they say (just don't post the $$ amounts here - it's against the rules).

And if you were asking the shop for a KV2 price, where/when did the KV2T issue come up?

When the guy was looking for the price of the KV2 Blue Ghost Flame. I think he was look at the KV2T and then realize it wasn't a KV2. He never knew Jackson had a KV2T. I think the people in that shop know very little about guitars in general. Which is sad because I know I'm not the only that goes in there asking questions. I know a decent amount about the Jackson line and Fenders line. I'll look into those sites. I've seen a couple on Ebay some were ding up pretty bad and I think there is one on there now that has rust on it.

I wouldn't give this dude $1,200 for it. Maybe $800 or $850. It isn't worth $1,200 at all. I guess they really go for 3 grand new. Check this one out

Re: Jackson KV2 Retail

Let me get a couple points straight here:

You think $2k is a good deal for a new one but $1200 is a bad deal for one reported to be mint?

You think $2k is a good deal for a new one because you can get half your money back when you sell it (aka, $1k) but this one for sale is worth maybe $800?

Check with one of our dealers from the link at the top of the the JCF page. They'll be sure to take good care of you without jacking up the price or leaving the case out of the deal.

Current Jackson List Prices Here

Note those are full list prices, including case. KV2 with a graphic is $2,999, as he mentioned. But it can be less - aa low as $2,599 - with a solid color finish. (KV2Ts run $2,999 to $3,399.)

As mentioned by others, check with a few dealers for an actual price quote. Discounts off of list price often vary significantly from dealer to dealer.

For full specs on the KV2, see the 2003 Jackson catalog by clicking on "resources" above, near the JCF banner at the top of this page. Looks at the KV pages, as well as the specs charts in the very back.

Well if you haven't really look at the picture hard enough. You can see that the Floyd Rose is rusted. The screws on it are rusted. Up at the headshock it's rusted. I mean mint condition my ass. It looks like the guy played it for a while and threw in the case without cleaning it and over years the it started to rust. The guy has already put that on ebay about 7 times and still successful in selling it.
