Re: New Rhoads LTD / Zakk Wylde Style.

Guess you guys don't know much about Jackson history and the how/why they built the approx. 200 LTD's in 1992. They were built to honor Randy Rhoads and commerate his death 10 years prior. Jackson promised NEVER to make any more LTD's in Randy's original configuaration and AMIC/Jackson stayed true to that promise. Yes, the LTD is sacred and Fender screwing with it is NOT COOL.

I'm not a Jackson scholar but I know why they did the LTD guitars.
How much do they have to deviate to make you happy? I'm being serious here. It's not going to dishonor Randy to make more of his trademark guitars. In fact, quite the opposite.
The only thing doing a run of guitars like the LTD does is anger collectors.
The collectors will get over it once they figure out that the value of their guitars will hold (after perhaps a brief dip). Fender has way more history and so-called sacred things than Jackson will likely ever have. Fender has figured out how to make guitars that more and more people want. Less and less people want Jackson guitars.
The LTD style guitar is probably the guitar most identifiable with Jackson. I'm certain that they'd sell a lot more of those than any other USA model.
Look, if Jackson doesn't do something to generate interest in their guitars they will lose more ground than they already have - I bet they'd become Custom Shop and import only. Heck, that's already the impression you'd get if you go to the #1 music store in the country - buy the MIJ model or "we can order that for you".
If anyone from Jackson is reading, put me down for one LTDish guitar. As long as Greg doesn't go overboard, you can tweak it like he says so it doesn't dishonor the LTD.
