  • Difference between JJ1 and JJ Custom

    Hello,

I wonder what are the differences between the older JJ Customs (introduced in ´94) and the JJ1 Signature guitars are ? Is any of them of higher quality or made of other wood?

    thanks

Re: Difference between JJ1 and JJ Custom

JJ CUSTOM WAS DESIGNED IN CONJUNCTION WITH SCOTT IAN OF ANTHRAX. THE ORIGINAL JJ CUSTOM HAD OUR POINTED JACKSON STYLE HEADSTOCK BUT WAS CHANGED PRIOR TO PRODUCTION TO THE "GUMBY" STYLE HEADSTOCK SHOWN ABOVE. THE JJ CUSTOM HAD A SLIGHTLY THINNER BODY THAN THAT OF THE JJ1 OR JJ2

Google still has cached pages from the MoAIP.It also says it was made of African mahogany.

There's one of those on ebay right now. Not sure if it's the same exact one or not, though.

I saw an older ad that said the JJ1 was made of mahogany, not alser like some sources say, I think some years used diiferent body wood. My JJ1 is WAY heavier than it would appear to be. I mean les paul heavy. Great tone too, Im selling mine if anyone is interested.
