You can get whatever one you want Newc. You just have to let you dealer know. There are a lot of options that aren't even on that form.

Sounds kickass! I think the bolt on thing is a great idea. You very well might have a one off guitar. Welcome to the world of the waiting! Ahhh, you already know what thats all about. How about doing a mockup in the CSG?

I'm not a fan of 7-strings but the warrior shape is definitely cool!! Congrats!!

Does bolt-on really reduce tension, though?? I've never heard of that. How can that be if the tension is dependent on just length, string gauge, and tuning?? Am I forgetting something?

Seriously, Newc. Hearty congrats. You won't regret it. The order sounds killer. Personally, I dislike 7 strings, but the bolt-on, graphic, and everything else sounds killer.

BTW, not 100% sure, but I believe they started making a 7 string version FR original a little while back. If available, I would definitely specify that EXACT trem. I do remember someone else complaining about a cheapo 7 string trem on their custom. Otherwise, I'd stick with a 6 stringer.

I don't think the scalloped heel will weaken the neck joint. I several bolt-on guitars with a scalloped heel and they are as stable as any of my other guitars. The scalloped heel is so comfortable.

Hey Matt I spoke to a friend of mine in the custom shop as far as he knows there should be less than 5 7 string Warriors, 1 from a dealer the others couple he remembers are all privately bought but a bolt on custom has never been made yet..the pups yuou ordered are available from SD theres a lady I forget name,but her nick name is Margarita takes the custom orders I called her after reading this she said if you can think it it up chances are she'll find someone there who can make it.

NOOOOO not the smurf hat headstock. lol You should go with the reversed 7 inline like the ones the Prototype guys have on their 7 strings that Jackson did a few years back. Your axe though. Are you going to have blood drips on the headstock also? Actually with the SLS harpoon style headstock it would look kind of cool with the blood drips on it. Good choice finish wise. As far as the scallop goes you should get the one like Kevin's Big Mouth Charvel. The scallop doesn't extend to fair back into the body and has more meat to handle that 7 string neck. More like an angled scallop that starts thin and tapers thicker back at the body. With the huge scallops the horns have that should be more than enough room.

Not to get too technical here, but I don't believe that above pic is a scalloped heel. Not 100% sure, but I believe the custom shop refers to that as an "angled heel" or something to that effect. A scalloped heel goes beyond the neckplate, and extends well into the body like so:



I'm with S1, though. Go with the "angled heel", or whatever they actually call it.

I forget what Kevin told me they called it. All I know is he was pissed. lol He wanted the traditional non angled heel. There is a slightly angled scallop on the top horn though of that. Not that that would get you much. I know they have certain degrees of scalloping horns on their custom stuff. I think they do the same type of system for the heel scallops.
