My Soloist 7 has the deeper scallop. Of course, it's neck-thru. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] The tension isn't THAT much higher on a 7 string, so I think it should be OK.

You picked the right headstock, no matter what people say here. The 7 string pointy is too long, IMO - and the SLS is MUCH better for spearing your singer.

More than likely they will put on the new 7-string version of the OFR. I've never tried it but I could certainly put my faith into it.

No angled fretboard as it's 2-hum, plus I went with standard options to get an immediate price, as opposed to the "you have specified options that have to be thought about and called in and we'll get back to you in a week when you're no longer interested" [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Plus, like NOTP said, I can swap the neck around more easily [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/poke.gif[/img]

I went with the SLS head because the reverse head doesn't look right on a Warrior, and the regular head has problems with the 7th string being too short a distance from the nut to the tuner, which is why the DK-7 is reversed.

There isn't really that much tension difference between a 6 and a 7, or a 4 and 5 string bass, but I've had a 4 string neckthrough bass and a 5-string bolt-on bass, and I can honestly say the bolt-on 5 string has a punchier tone than the neckthrough 4-string. I realise it's basses and guitars, but the principle is the same - bolt ons are slightly punchier and "snappier" than neckthroughs, which is better for low-end definition. Neckthrough is more of an "uppercrust" feature, and IME it's more of a luxury than a necessity.

I'm sure Duncan will be willing to build me a custom shop pickup set, but I don't want to jack the price up on this thing even higher [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Anyone see an SLS 7 head? Is the 4th tuner (center one) on the top, bottom, or tip?

Do you want the 4th tuner on the tip? [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] They'll probably do it if you ask, but then you can't harpoon your bassist onstage. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] Methinks it'll be on the top judging by how the 4 tuners look on the JCF Custom Shop Generator 4+2 SLS head. Extrapolate that to a 4+3 SLS head and it still looks good.

Newc, Yea, definitely specify the Floyd 7, Gold, Nickle (Chrome), Black etc. I didn't see what finish you're hardware is in.

I tried it a little bit in Paint Shop but it kept sucking so I gave up [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

And it'll be the standard blac/red blood splatter, with black hardware. I did specify Floyd if they had one, and specified the pickups if they were available. Matt will get back with me when he send the initial order and Jackson will clarify if they have a real Floyd and the Duncans I want without going Custom for those as well. If they're not, then I'll get whatever (probably get stuck with a JB-7 [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]) and swap them out at my leisure [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
Even if I end up with a crapass Floyd copy, as long as the post spacing allows me to change to an OFR7 later, I'm happy.
