And I dashed off a note to Matt about adding the "Custom Shop" to the head, and I forgot earlier to specify San Dimas route - all Jacksons should have the SD route. I don't see how the PC-1 even gets a tone with the back being half aluminum [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Ordinarily I prefer the smaller SD route. But it's not a big deal, IMHO. And pop off the control cover on a PC1 and you'll understand why it HAS to have the Ontario route. There's a big ole' circuit board under there for the sustainer.

Newc - seriously, remember to spec the OFR 7 string. Even if it costs more $. Otherwise you won't be happy with the trem.

I'll see if it's listed on the approval order when Matt sends it to me.

The order form does say that tremolo recesses are for Floyd Rose trems only, and I selected Standard recess, so they might go ahead and figure it with the cost of the OFR7.
I also found a pair of Distortion 7s on Ebay in the UK - $250 for the pair [img]/images/graemlins/eek.gif[/img]

He didn't mention they were custom ordered, and I haven't been to SD.com to check.

Yup - both the DD and JN are available for 7.

Unless you specify it, you won't get it. Think of it this way: even if they charge you extra for it, it's still cheaper than paying for the crappy import trem AND then having to replace it with an OFR. You're paying for BOTH then, and won't make your money back by selling the old one.

Cripes, dude, the order isn't even placed yet and you're ALREADY talking about modding it. [img]/images/graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] That may make sense for stuff picked up used, but NOT for a custom shop order. Spec what you REALLY want, and save yourself the time, hassle and money.

And just because it's not listed as an option, doesn't mean the custom shop won't get it for you. They already have Floyd and Duncan as suppliers, so the trem and PUs are just a phone call away for them.

Shred - I have no problem with swapping hardware on Customs. It doesn't affect the resale, considering resale of Customs is poor anyway [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

It's not a rendering, it's an actual photo of a blood splatter Warrior. I found that image with a google search, and cropped out the neck, pickup and trem, and just placed it over the first one I made. lol
