Exactly, it's one more

As for 3-piece, mahogany is too soft to do a one-piece neck unless you do it thick.

I actually didn't request the 3-piece, when I requested Mahogany for the neck, they changed the order to a 3-piece.

25 frets? Just so when you stare at the blank ebony board, subconciously, something about it will look peculiar and will disturb your guitar recognition skills.

How does one distinguish a "normal" Rhoads from a "Rhoads Extreme"?

the Extreme Rhoads is 7/8th the size of a normal Rhoads. It also has a reverse headstock and no pickguard. It was available as a production model until a couple of years ago, as the XTRR.

                OK I'll jump in
                Rhoads Extreme = XTRR

Smaller size Rhoads body (approx 7/8) with a reverse headstock, reverse inlays and no front cavity plate. Here's an earlier thread:

Re: Ever see a 25 FRET ONE HUM XTRR????

This isn't very accurate, but it's close enough to get the idea...

The black outline would be a full sized RR1, the XTRR would be the white inside. So, it's almost like if the bevels on a RR1 were cut off, then the remainder is rebeveled... if that makes any sense to you.

Oh, I did find Chuck's thread on this earlier, but his demonstration picture was gone.

I think the smaller body makes the guitar look more balanced.

Thats going to be a really cool guitar. I've thought about doing the bevels on my Rhoads in red. I love the headstock

mines also mahogany great choice IMO, but it's a full size rhoads and has a maple neck

Mahogany rules! I'm hoping the ebony board alone will add just a little brightness to the overall sound. If not, I prefer the 85, but I might have to swap it out for an EMG81, but that's something I really wouldn't mind doing if I had to... quick disconnect and all.

That's a sweet Rhoads! I might have to get a red pickup ring for mine... hmm... I wonder how that would look.

I kinda thought it was a bit much so I put the black ones back on. The ones I had never really matches the headstock logo anyway
