I need info on my 86 KING V (USA) , build info ?

I have a 86 KING V w/ tiger grafics, shark fins etc.
The guitar is a neck through # J26xx... Who or where can
I find out which pick ups it was sent out with ? and any
other info about it... Not sure if it was a Custom build

In 1986 all Jacksons were custom ordered, though many of them were ordered in rather standard configurations by dealers for stock, they still had to pay the same price and wait the same amount of time for them.

Good luck getting info from them now. I hear that serial number and work order requests have all but stopped unless you know someone on the inside.

Pull the electronics cover, and see if there is any evidence that there's been any rewiring. You can often tell if someone has changed anything around. If everything appears original, pull the pickups and look on the back. It would be clearly marked.

Hi Tony...welcome!

Xeno, Tony wasn't clear in his first post. Tony's V has EMGs in it, which were in there at time of purchase but he doesn't believe they are the original stock pups. So he wants to know what the orig pups were.

Could be the originals. Check the bottoms and the wiring as Xeno said.
Custom order and all that.

J26xx does correspond to San Dimas 1986
