  • Jackson PC1 - Fret Buzz

The low E string on my PC1 has a terrible fret buzz. The A and D strings buzz a little, but the E buzzing comes through the amp. I had my dealer set it up and it is still no good. The relief on the neck seems about right, and the action is really higher than i would prefer. Playing open strings, it's fine, but from the 2nd fret on it's really bad.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

Bummer. I have a PC1 also. They are killer guitars and my favorite of all the Jacksons.

Have you measured the string heigth?

I usually take a thick pick - Dunlop Jazz 3 - and place it under the 16th fret and aadjust it just until the pick falls out on both my high and low E strings.

Also, you can adjust the bridge heigth of the Floyd Rose higher.

It may in fact be a truss rod adjustment also. You can't always trust every dealer to set up a guitar properly IMO.

You might also take it to another dealer.
