Old thread but wanted to let anyone know who cares that this guitar now resides in Md. Very nice player along with the cool looks. Brought it to rehearsal last night and the band says it has a nice clear sound across the spectrum. I just know its smooth and sounds fine. What did this thing originally come through with as far as color of Floyd, pup type and case? I'm thinking chrome Floyd?

Glad to see a member of the JCF still has it. Isn't that the one that was on eBay recently?

Thanks to all. Yup, that was on evilbay. I overpaid but I also know what the newer Charvels/Jacksons are going for so that help me justify (in my mind anyway) the cost. I had to change the string retainers (clamps holding the strings at the nut) because the black ones that were on it were pinching the strings causing the G string to go sharp when you did a dive bomb. I had to PRY the retainers out! Once I did that, I noticed the nut is chrome and replaced with chrome retainers, set this thing up and all is well.

That is why I was asking, did this thing come through with chrome or black hardware? I would like to return this to original as close as possible because I do plan on keeping it. It came with a black Charvel case. That isnt original is it? Its in fantastic shape for a 20 year old axe. Dont know why the people in the past who have owned it have flipped it.
