Re: Limited Run USA 24 Fret Rhoads

I'd love it! If it can't come with 24 frets then, I'd say a LTD run of Vinnie Vincent Vs!!! That would be REALLY cool!!!

IMO the guitar should be a bit more practical than the VVV. Even though they can't be made, I think most people here would be buying for playability rather than a collectable version of a stars guitar (like the JCF series).

Re: Limited Run USA 24 Fret Rhoads

What does PCS mean? I know it sounds stupid.
The Rhoads was my first Jackson, and I've always wanted a Custom Rhoads. This seems like the affordable alternative. (Well, you know what I mean.)
Speaking of price, I'm pretty sure the dealers can get reamed if they disclose prices online, especially with the MAP thing. So keep all price discussions in PMs and Emails if you would please.

Matt, as soon as you know something, post it, and once you get a figure on price, PM me. If possible, I'll be the first to put my cash down

I'm kind of like Xeno on a few things, only difference, I'm on the other side. If it has a floyd, I want it recessed, however, I don't need a floyd, so string through would be fine.

I don't need the pickguard, but I think a gold pickguard would really set it off, if someone could, however they are making those photoshop pictures, could they post one with and without the pickguard?

If we could actually get the pickguard in the case, and you put it on yourself, just make sure it has the holes drilled for the controls, that way it lines up right...shame to see someone put this on half crooked or whatever.

Something I've been thinking, and I didn't think a slide switch would bother me much, but I'm thinking it would be great with a toggle ala SL2H.

One of the FEW things I will NOT move on is the pickups, must have 2 hums, I can't stand any other set up. And, if you don't use the neck hum, not a problem, but if you do need it, and it's not there then... what do you do?

How do they serialize limited runs? and do they say custom shop on them, or how is it done? Doesn't bother me, but I'm trying to recall how the Chlorines, and how the Rootbeers have went, but I can't remember. Hell even the Road Hazard Rhoads, I can't remember.

Okay, good people, keep it coming, and we need to try and get this to 10 or 12 it looks like. I know this isn't a JCF guitar, but it's a damn good start on a LE run. Many people want a 24 fret Rhoads, and want USA quality. This could be the best way to get into that, our personal touches, to this already great model. Add 24 frets, and we've got a killer guitar, that we can all have a piece or two of history with, (not only Metal Guitar God history, but 24 fret Rhoads, that we've ALL waited for.)

Ah, this will never work out
And what do I need a 24 fret for, I barely play above the 17th fret anyway

You really don't need to post any negative posts in this thread.

Re: Limited Run USA 24 Fret Rhoads

ok so I'm trying to figure out what we (or the majority? ) have agreed on:

* 24-fret neck-thru (SL2H-style)
* 2 hum 1V/1T ? Duncan Distortion bridge and Jazz neck
* no pickguard! (I won't say it again )
* abalone inlays is definitely gonna push the price more than it's worth IMO but if we get a good deal, then sure.
* recessed OFR. Although most (including myself) seem to be fine with string-thru TOM as well...

We need to discuss the finish more. Like I said in the other thread, I would prefer a flame maple top or even quilt top, with a dark trans finish. Other than that, I'd really love having black ghost flames, blue ghost flames, or red ghost flames on black. The ghost flames look really great on a V-shape body.
Other than those, one of the group D colors would be cool too, like black w gold pinstripes, or silver sparkle metallic w black bevels!
A solid color is basically a bit too boring to me....

ok I'm gonna go put my flame suit on now

Re: Limited Run USA 24 Fret Rhoads

I think it looks cool.

Only what we are not sure is

Pickguard or no
What color of hardwares(Black or Gold)
What color for the body
Floyd or non Floyd.

Matt will have to make sure if Jackson will do non pickguard or with pickguard.
If yes, that is an option. If not, we simply have no choice and have to go with pickguard.

About the body color, to lower the cost, it is simply better to go with Solid color and no flame maple top.
Flame Maple top will increase the price probably about $200 more.

Re: Limited Run USA 24 Fret Rhoads

I'm with Xeno, 100%...

24 fret
One hum
Rear loaded
OFR
colors don't matter much, just not a flat color or a flame or transparent. We need to have some accents, bevels, pins, something. As for pups, something that doesn't come in a select. Hotter the better for me, but I can always switch em out! I'd like to have a custom logo tho. Say it matches the accent ( bevels, etc ) Maybe red bevels, red binding, red logo?

I am definitely out for anything that resembles a normal select.

Oh and one more thing... ( after looking at the ebony sharky thread)

A Maple board with ebony sharks would be cool as well.

I just don't see a lot of interest in a custom or ltd run of a basic select guitar.

How about a JCF logo on the back?

K, I'm done..... for now

They will do a custom body shape for a limited run? I seriously doubt it.

If they will, anybody in for a Demon?
