Perhaps it would.
I was actually contacted about this before
I knew of this thread.
I have already submitted the Form to my rep and he is working it with Jackson.
I hope to hear back on it this coming week.

The guy who asked me also posted about this in the CoB forum as well.

Interested if 2 hums. Not if one hum. I play more than one style of music. Got to have it.

I just read where someone said to route the guitar for the 2nd hum!!!

That's not very smart. Add 79$ for the pickup, and if you're not me (I can do it myself, but not everyone is me) then add that expense.

Why not just get it 2 hums, and fill it in when you get it?

If Scott is going to do the Laiho limited, then Matt should concerntrate on getting a RR1 with 24frets with a regular select series price.. if not, as lower as possible.
I am not interested in Laiho model with CS price.
All I wanted was a simple RR1 with 24frets and maybe off pickguard without CS price.
My intention of posting Laiho guitar pic was to let Matt to have some ideas about Rhoads with 24fret but not to do exactly.

I will wait for Matt to come here to bring more information on what he can do.

I just priced what I want in a Randy Rhoads on the custom shop.
quitled maple top (thick fucker), abalone inlays, 24 frets, trans black finish, non recessed floyd, ebony board, duncan distortion and jazz, 1 volume, no pickguard...let's just say, yowzaa...it said something like 4200$

If this doesn't pan out, then I'm more than likely going to see about doing a custom run early next year.

ummm yeah, filling in a pickup is a LOT easier than routing one.

I didn't believe I stated ANYWHERE that it was easier Xeno .
I was stating, if I can rout it, you can fill it, more or less.

I run a tech shop, I do several mods and repairs, I know the work that goes into it. There are certain things I don't do. Major finish repairs are one of them (meaning fill a hole, sand the area, respray that, sand it clear it blah blah and 1000 steps in between.)

It makes you laugh to think about filling a pickup, now you know how I feel about having one pickup.

It's almost evident to me, that this is not going to work. I'm willing to move on anything, save 2 pickups, and I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I'll keep my eyes on it, and if it goes the 2 pickup run (assuming it even makes it off of the ground) I'm in for sure! Otherwise, I'm going to cry myself to sleep and move on.

Hiding a pickup route is a nightmare. Routing one isn't. It's a common sense thing. Someday you might understand...

For someone like me, it's just getting the humbucking pickup template. Measuring where I need to put it, and put it in.

Someone who's a God damned moron starts routing and routs too deep or some crap like that, ruins the guitar, and we have to go through how to fill it for them.

I'm not paying X amount of bucks to route the guitar after I get it, and if it goes that way, I just won't get it. Not a big deal at all. One thing is for certain though, regardless of what this has, I bet it will be bitchin if it gets off the ground.
