I remember that one...very cool guitar. Almost bought it myself. My kids were also drooling over it... they beg me to buy any guitar with volcanoe or space graphics... hah. Now only if the wife would feel the same way!

No problem Jim, my pleasure. You'll have to post some more when you get the chance!!

Chuck, no unfortunately that place burned down.... damn shame ..... I was out of town at the time, uh yeah, that's the ticket.... At least that's my story and I'm stickin' to it ... Went UPS and I packed that bad boy like a tank!!! Looks like it made the trip O.K. , my biggest concern was the climate change. How's that Gibby I sold you, still kickin' I hope.

Re: The Volcano is here! UPDATED WITH PICS!!

Stephan, JimmyB, or anyone else out there that can answer this for that matter:

I own two '88 Ontario bolt-ons that originally had the JT-6 trems like this Volcano. Now, where the trem posts go into the body, on BOTH guitars, there is an indentation in the finish almost as if there was originally some kind of washer-like circle around the trem post sockets. It looks as if you can see them on your guitar. Is this correct? If so, strange that BOTH of mine seem to have them missing. I guess they aren't fastened really well.... Anyone know where I might find replacements?

Re: The Volcano is here! UPDATED WITH PICS!!

Hey Bert, yes it has a washer under the trem that goes around the trem posts and they are just loose on there so I could see how they would easily get lost if you took the trem off and turned the guitar upside down and **poof** they would be gone ... Kinda like the locking blocks in a Floyd Rose trem if you forget to tighten them back against the saddle while changeing string and turn it over, but I digress !! But that is what they are, just washers under there and I'm not really sure what purpose they serve .. Hope this helps.

Re: The Volcano is here! UPDATED WITH PICS!!

Yup, I know what you mean, Bert. They put those on there as it is a common place for the finish to chip. Measure the indents carefully and go to any hardware store with a good supply of, well, hardware. All they are is washers!

Stephan, thats a damn shame that place burned. I know how much you enjoyed doing business with them, and how the customer sevice was top notch. BTW, out of town works for me...

BTW, I sold the Gibby a short time ago. It was a cool guitar, but there was another and another and another...

Re: The Volcano is here! UPDATED WITH PICS!!

Thanks.. good to know they are just regular old washers! And yes the finish under there is very slightly chipped and discolored too, so it would look better to get the washers back on.

FYI regarding the comment about my avatar, I stole it from here: http://www.bertisevil.tv/ If you think that's funny, you'll get a kick out of this too!

Nice Volcano. Was that once owned by the "Bad Man" himself, Tony G from New Jersey?

Yupper! How much did that dude who bought it from Tony pay for it again?
Those were some funny auctions, man!

Tony got it for around $500 and successfully sold it on eBay for $1400. Was the buyer a Forum member? One of you guys? Not sure. Anyway, it was believed to be a genuine San Dimas by the buyer who swore that it was even after it was proven to be an Ontario, CA made axe.

Ironically the guy who bought it for $1400 had an e-bay username of "idiot savant".. hah.

I don't believe he was a forum member (you'd think a forum member would have known better)!
