Re: custom shop charvel star spotted

Hey RockPro, I got some of the info, but no pics. Strangly enough, I managed to lose my digi camera. Haven't used it in awhile and forgot where I left it last. Anyway, here's what I picked up:

It's a Charvel with serial # 278411 on the neck plate. It's a bolt on, with the Ft Worth, TX address at the bottom of the #. It's red with a black headstock and has one covered humbucker with a Jackson logo on the cover. One volume knob and sells for $229.99 in our store. It's described as a used custom shop Charvel. If you want to call and check up on it and get the low down from a salesman who might know more, call 1-212-819-0576 and ask for Matt. He's the manager in the guitar dept. If he says we don't have one, tell him there's one right above the Mode Four halfstack.

Well, if its labeled as a "Custom Shop", I doubt the salesman knows a damn thing about it, cause its a Japanese Model 1 or 2.
Still a cool guitar and the price is good.

LoL. We (Manny's Music) also have a Charvel in our shop towards the back with the Marshalls, but I don't what model or year. All I know is it has one hum and it's red. I'll post a serial # and someone'll probably know.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Looking forward to your post of the photos and the serial number. I just scanned all guitars at Manny's Music.
According to two sales representatives their has not been a Charvel, Jackson, or Charvel Jackson Star in that shop in as long as they can remember... 10 years!

                            RacerX,

I don't want to go bore everyone by making a thread about my customer service observations.

Unfortunately the lack of energetic enthusiam was the common thread in the stores on Music Street.

I do not want to be greeted by a barber shop quartet "How are you today" What can I help you with" singing ensembles.

I know these stores well for years. Perhaps everyone is scared/depressed. Now I'm getting into it!

                            1. It would be nice to walk into a music store and be able to recognize the staff from the shoppers.

                            2. Employees seem to only relate to each other when they hear the words: I'm back now...Your turn for break.

                            3. There are 4 types of employees. The security guard. The Cashier girl. The Active sales person.
                            The Passive sales person.

                            4. Upon entering: If you force eye contact with the security guard a telepathic message is transmitted immediately to the entire staff that you are a "Ghost" and you can do anything you want including pick up and play any guitar for hours the only thing you cannot do is open the cash register.

The active sales person can also be a manager. They will be behind the cash register girl and if you are not a "Ghost" and have shown the slightest interest in any high ticket item. They make sure to let you know that "It will be gone in a few days, I guarantee it"...

The passive sales person is the most disconnected, though they all are, as I mentioned perhaps it is because thay are scared and or depressed. The passive sales person will never know anything about anything and will be happy to admit it and refer you to the active sales person who will be on the phone with someone saying "I can get it for you".

Note: The passive salesperson can be easilly identified because they have an acoustic guitar glued to their hands.

If you make a purchase the cashier girl(s) will become all excited because it gives them the "opportunity to being important".

It does not matter if you pay in cash or credit card. The cashier girl will need to bring the active sales person into the "transaction scene" because the item sku number can't be matched to the database in the computer and it is standard operating protocol that the two provide each other dysfunctional/functional support.

Over the summer when I was in Guitar Center, I was wearing a dark gray button down shirt with the Nevermore band logo on it.
