Yup, most likely the builder. My guitars from that era have the builder name stamped in the neck pocket -- is it stamped or hand written?

I just took the neck of the body on my LTD ed 88(#348) and it says "cordelia diaz" in the neck pocket as well as a date. What would the cordelia diaz stand for? The guitar builder?
