Control cavity change...?

When, if ever did the control cavity shape change for San Dimas Badged guitars from the 4 sided trapeziod triangle of the original to the rounded trapezoid of the current?

Why I ask is that I am looking at a san dimas badged jackson with th newer rounded cover.

Any thoughts?

It must have been in 1986. I ordered a San Dimas in 1985 and it had a small cover. I ordered one in 1986 and it had the larger cover. Hope this helps.

I'm sure that all depends...

I have an early 87 with the old small cavity, it's a one hum guitar with a volume & tone.

You can still order it, and the San Dimas Bullseyes reissues have it, and KVs still use it.

have you got any pics of the 2 different covers?i've got a san dimas plated bass that jackson said was built in 86 but when i took the neck off it had a 87 date written on the neck and pocket.
