Re: Jackson Strathead
Diablo... Yeah, I really really really dig that guitar. Parts mutt or not, it's just classic, and it just looks awesome.
Yeah, I don't think the guitar is US... Too much time and effort into "making" that a Jackson strathead, which would be counterproductive, IMO.
Obviously, the rough paintjob is done on purpose, cause if you look at the crackle, and the skulls, it's a VERY professional job. A good crackle isn't the easiest thing to accomplish, even with the right paints I don't see them coming out that consistently nice over the whole body. I'd bet money that whoever had that done WANTED a rough feeling paint job. Something I think would be interesting to consider for a custom order as well... I mean, look at the Granite finish, it's textured too. Some people like the textured feel...
I really believe it's legit at least from the sake of being a Jackson, though probably not US. The headstock/neck backshape and other things about it look correct. A Japanese Custom Shop guitar perhaps ( YES, there IS a Jackson custom shop... )
Anyways, I'd go eight on the gamble that it's a sweet player.
The string tree, the tuners, and even the headstock shape ARE right for a Jackson. Pretty much identical to mine, which is 100% legit.
