Re: Jackson Strathead

Diablo... Yeah, I really really really dig that guitar. Parts mutt or not, it's just classic, and it just looks awesome.

Yeah, I don't think the guitar is US... Too much time and effort into "making" that a Jackson strathead, which would be counterproductive, IMO.

Obviously, the rough paintjob is done on purpose, cause if you look at the crackle, and the skulls, it's a VERY professional job. A good crackle isn't the easiest thing to accomplish, even with the right paints I don't see them coming out that consistently nice over the whole body. I'd bet money that whoever had that done WANTED a rough feeling paint job. Something I think would be interesting to consider for a custom order as well... I mean, look at the Granite finish, it's textured too. Some people like the textured feel...

I really believe it's legit at least from the sake of being a Jackson, though probably not US. The headstock/neck backshape and other things about it look correct. A Japanese Custom Shop guitar perhaps ( YES, there IS a Jackson custom shop... )

Anyways, I'd go eight on the gamble that it's a sweet player.

The string tree, the tuners, and even the headstock shape ARE right for a Jackson. Pretty much identical to mine, which is 100% legit.

Xeno, theres no doubt its a very cool guitar. i think all the parts are real jackson plus look at the logo if someone was going to FAKE a jackson i think they would have used a standard logo. if you'll pay $800 for it then thats what its worth, its only worth what someone is willing to pay....lol. I just think once you get close to the $1000 mark there are so many other cool guitars. hell you can buy SD jacksons & possible pointy SD charvels for that

            Thanks DM.

Looks like a Kahler->Floyd conversion + refin to me (hard to see but there seems to be a kahler route underneath the floyd, plus the non-recessed back plate is another giveaway).

However I agree the parts look legit.

Did anyone see the size of the electronics cavity in back? I'm led to believe that the small covers indicate american made.

                    Gormlan: used.

JacksonUSA: Could also be Japanaese. The cavity by itself dosen't mean much.
