Jackson Logo's

I have 8 Jackson's ranging from 85-89. 3 of them are older (tm) logos, and those look the same compared to each other. But on the 5, (which have the(R), have slight variations in the logo. And I also have 1 that is smaller, (about 3 1/2 inches compared to the others at 4 inches). Did the Jackson logo's evolve over the years, and does anyone have a smaller 3 1/2 inch logo like the one I have?

My white 88 Soloist has the 3 1/2" logo. Its the only one I've seen.

Also, here's a bit of info on Charvel and Jackson logos, though no mention of sizes.

The font used for the "made in usa" (on the 3 1/2" logo)is larger than all of my other "made in usa". [img]graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img]

Here is my 1990ish small logo headstock (bottom) and 1987 standard type (bottom).



It is not only 3 1/2" long, but it lacks the Registered mark and "Made in USA".

Whoops! Those Jackson logos above are 3 9/16", NOT 3.5".
I just measured a Shannon and it's 3 9/16s" as well.

I measured mine with a caliper and it was 3.56 also.

The one on the white soloist measures 3 7/16" from the fattest part of the "J" to the end tip on the "n".
