Is that a toggle switch in the middle for just one pickup?

The toggle is to select the other volume knob, silly

And yeah they'll build it without the cuts. They built a totally useless doubleneck Rhoads, they shouldn't balk at a King-Sized Kutless Kelly.

IIRC Greg once mentioned the King Kelly is about 3" bigger in all directions than the current Kelly.

          LOL @ NEWC

Yeah guys, that's a toggle. I originally had 2 hums, but got rid of the neck hum, and forgot to delete the toggle. Sue me

Wow, $240 is a lot of cheese for a custom shape. It's really too bad Carvin got rid of the pointy headstock, because I'd seriously consider buying a neck-thru blank, and building what I want, but I really can't stand their headstock shape. It looks like a mis-shapen turd.

I should contact Jackson, and see if they will do a King Kelly without the cuts.

Carvin will do a paddlehead neckthrough blank.

And Stew Mac sells essentially the same blank, with a paddlehead

                Re: Custom shop King Kelly

I was told, at the time, that Jackson would no longer do Kelly's with the cutouts. However, they have since done several more, that I have seen. Somebody got one as an endorsement piece, black w/red blood drips? There was one at NAMM etc etc. When I was told this, it came directly from Tim Wilson, so I believed it to be true. If the demand is there, My guess is that will override the Custom Shop's druthers. I was also told, at the same time, that no more Vinnie Vincent V's would be produced either. I think a lot of things have changed since the Fender buyout. No more Gibby shapes or other TM shapes has left the amount of original Jackson body shapes a somewhat smaller number. As to the size, the King Kelly is huge when compared to a newer production Kelly. There are several pics kicking around showing the size difference's, I think Greg Crowe has one of the pics. Add 2 1/2 - 3" to the 'butt' of the guitar. The Kelly needs the additional weight, so that the neck won't nosedive, like the weenie Friedman style ones!

                    Re: Custom shop King Kelly

I've got a pic of my King Kelly with 2 "Dinky" current Kelly's hanging on each side of it. I'll have to post it when I get home. There is a HUGE!! difference in size.

King Kelly's were made only in 1984 and there were only approx. 20 made. In 1985 they downsized the Kelly to the "mid-size" which remained through the mid-90's. When Marty Friedman jumped on board with Jackson, the Kelly was once again downsized to "Dinky" status for Marty with the KE-1 and KE-2.

As far a I can tell, I own the only King Kelly ever produced without body cutouts. It's a monster. I also own a Custom mid-sized Bengal Kelly. Without the cutouts, the mid-sized looks/feels correct. The "Dinky" Kelly does nothing for me. It's laughable looking at it next my King.

                          Re: Custom shop King Kelly

And here's another....... King Kelly Custom next to a mid-size Custom Kelly. Remember, the Friedman sized "Dinky" Kelly is considerably smaller than this Bengal Custom mid-sized.

The Bengal is getting ready to get a set of Black/Creme DiMarzio's installed that fit the black/cream bengal patern perfectly...... should be killer!
