  • Jackson strat w/pickguard??

Are San Dimas badged strats (Ontario CA made) with a traditional strat pickguard and jackplate rare? I have gotten numerous inquiries on my Jackson Star Trek strat and the majority of them mention that it is really rare to see a San Dimas plated guitar with a traditional strat pickguard. Is it??

    Good question....

I hate to ask the next one but...

Post a picture of the back of the guitar. At that late date it would seem unlikely that a Graphic would be done on a toploader. Not imposible.

    Have you had it apart?

I have posted many pics of it. It is serial # 6934 and it has absolutely no markings in the neck pocket or anywhere else. Here are the pics:

The back plate is engraved and is definately correct when compared to other Jackson aluminum engraved pickguards.

              Re: Jackson strat w/pickguard??

I checked the San Dimas Charvel site and compared original San Dimas to my Jackson Ontario San Dimas and here is what I found.
Strap buttons are definately the same as the original San Dimas examples shown.
Engraved rear trem plate is the same as early San Dimas. Even the font on the engraving and the size of the screws are the same.
The rear trem cavity plate is non recessed which is correct.
The comfort bevel appears to be the correct size although they do not give specific measurements.
The weight of the guitar is exactly the same as an original San Dimas Charvel that I own.
Could this body be an early 80's example?

That's pretty weird for an 89.
