Re: Getting Custom Shop Jackson Quote!!

Ya, I am leaning for binding over the tang ends, I am just wondering if the black around the headstock would be overkill with the ebony Jackson Logo, your thoughts on that? Jack.

Go for it...I would. That's exactly what I plan on doing when I order my CS Korina XTRR. But that's still just a dream at this point.

Re: Getting Custom Shop Jackson Quote!!

I to placed a CS order recently.I was only required to do a 25% deposit to get things rolling. The specs on mine a very similar to yours and Jims.

Soloist body
Mahogany body sides
Quilted maple top
Oiled maple neck
Ebony board
Reversed sharkfins
24.75 scale
22 frets
OFR recessed
Sprezels
Gold hardware
Tobacco sunburst
No pickup rings
Binding on head stock and neck
Duncan Custom and 59
SL2H control layout

I agree with RR05xx about the binding.Something about a soloist without it just does not look or feel right to me.

Re: Getting Custom Shop Jackson Quote!!

I appreciate all of your input fellas. Does anyone have a picture of a Jackson with Black binding on the neck and headstock? Also, I see they also offer the San Dimas neck profile, I didn`t opt for it, because I never tried one. Can someone explain the difference between the Soloist and San Dimas neck profiles? I also don`t see the Speed neck option anymore? I don`t know what that one is like either? Thanks-Jack.

Re: Getting Custom Shop Jackson Quote!!

Jack - The San Dimas neck profile is kinda fat compared to the Soloist profile, but it shouldn't be a problem unless you've got small hands. I believe you've said before you didn't like the neck of a Fusion because it felt skinny, correct? Then an oiled Soloist neck profile with a 24.75" scale is going to feel just like a Fusion, since it's the same thing.

If you want a meatier profile with the short scale, get the SD profile.

If you're going with the 25.5" scale, either neck profile should be comfy enough.
