JJ Information Please!

This beauty just came in today.




Now I was wondering what the original stock pickups were. Also, how many were made if that info is on hand. This is a pre Ian model, but it does have the 3 per side headstock. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Well....I can't see photos of your JJ but I'm guessing that you mean to say "JJ Custom". These were pre Scott Ian and had a Duncan '59(neck) and a Duncan Distortion (bridge). I have serial #029 JJ.

This guitar has a killer quilt top, and it actually looks even better in person. This thing is deep.

This guitar was being advertised as having all knids of PRS Hardware......I think the Pickups still look the stock Duncans and The Bridge is also Original Wilkinson/Jackson. Only the knobs look to be PRS. Nice Quilt Top.....

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">It was just PRS pickups, and rotary switch. The owner changed the switch back (cant stand rotary switches), and put one of the original Duncans back in with a DiMarzio for the neck, and it was a good amount less than advertised. I believe its the Humbucker From Hell. i will replace it with a Duncan most likely. Also has push pulls on both knobs, but they are not active yet.
