Re: GMW refins

I sent a Soloist Pro to Lee for refinish and pickup replacement a couple of years ago. I believe he estimated 4-6 weeks, and had it done in around 5. If I had some more available cash, I'd be having him do some more work for me, but quality finishing doesn't come cheap.

Damn, that place is a cluttered craphole.... pretty much what I expected. Clean workspace = bad thing.

        Yes, I'm being serious.

Wow that place is REAL small, i was expecting like a small warehouse, but that place is like a garage. Wouldn't be nice if people just sent me their guitars like that, and i got to keep them

Hey JIMSHINE....check out this photo and look at the 'Lynch Sub' and the 'PolkaDot V'. GMW did these for me..(The matching headstock is awesome)....I'll let the pictures do the talking.

You will be in GREAT hands with Lee and even though it may take a little longer....it is WELL worth the wait.

                GMW refins

For those of you who have had GMW refinish your guitar, how long did it take? I sent my Rhoads serial number Soloist to Lee and was wondering how long I should expect it will take.

                    Re: GMW refins

well it all depends on what your having done, mine was a soloist that was being re-painted and frets dressed and it took about 7 months but in lee's defense i gave it to him just before the namm show so............

                        Love that Stack-o-Duncans

About how much do they charge for a "standard" graphic (i.e. not a custom piece, but one like from the Jackson Dealer Graphics Albums that have been done before)? I know it's based on complexity and colors, but has anyone had them do any Flip-Flop colors (full-body or just flames/etc)?

I visited Lee earlier this year to pick up my Soloist... I have lots of cool pics (way more than ol Chuck!) that I should get online one of these days.

Hey NEWC......I talked to Dan at GMW, (he's the master painter which you probably know), about a Flip-Flop graphic on a special piece I am doing but THAT...I need to keep Fish Secret...You will all see it soon enough...HEHEHE...Anyway, it should not be a problem to get something like that done....They have several standard Jackson graphics on their website not only as thumbnail pictures but also on the price list....For example the snakeskin graphics and there are several..as well as Jacksons' other standard graphics and Dan the Man will paint them for a lot less than what Jackson charges.....that is if you are getting something refinned.
