Anyone ordered custom lately? What's the wait like now?

Still 12+ months, or has Fender managed to lower it any? There is a custom shop KV in my near future...

I did a custom order in May 2002. The order has been confirmed in June 2002. Since last Thursday, my guitar i shipping.

I ordered Jan last yr received Dec .. I was told that Fender was working to reduce the newer orders to 6 months ..

14 months for one I received at the end of May or so.

I'd love if they reduced the wait time, I just hope it dosen't sacrifice quality for quantity, as some other companies have been doing recently. Gotta find more guys who are qualified to hell to work on more guitars

I put in an order with the custom shop just before the Fender buyout. As far as I know, they were starting on it about 3 weeks ago. I havo no idea when they'll actually finish it.
Hope that sort of gives you an idea of the current pace.

Either way, it doesn't really matter. 11 months or 6, I'll still end up buying it as soon as I have the money. If Fender does get the wait down to 6 that'll be pretty decent for a custom instrument.

Jason from Drum City Guitarland is under the impression that the wait is still around a year. I emailed him about it last night.

I'm sure it will be quite a while before I see mined done. I still have to wait till Dan Lawrence contacts me about the graphic. We have some details to work out but I was told to wait till they called me about it when they were getting ready to actually do it. Should be a killer cuatom shop!
