Am I right that with this serial# it would be a 1986 San Dimas made? The details are it is black. Has chrome Kahler with chrome locknut and a chrome pickguard. White logo (silkscreened?). The good no buckle rash. No fretwear and no chipped headstock. The bad. Upper wing has a missing chunk on the backside of the guitar that can't be seen from the front. One owner guitar with OHSC. The owner is thinking of selling it. What should it go for?

Re: RR1907 spotted
Well he wants a $1000 for it. If he decides to sell it I'll take some pics and post them. The guitar is super clean except for the one chip. I probably won't pick it up for myself but if a JCF brother was interested I could help them get it. That is why I posted about the guitar.RR24M -SLATQH- 2 SLSMG's- DKMGT- 3DXMGT's

Re: RR1907 spotted
The chip is about an inch long on the inside of the fin. It sarts at the tip. If I remember correctly you can't see it from the front of the guitar.RR24M -SLATQH- 2 SLSMG's- DKMGT- 3DXMGT's

Re: RR1907 spotted
I think that you should try to talk him down to the 850-900 range. You could use the chip as an advantage and haggle him dow to a price more to your liking. Cool guitar though. If you like it and he won't move, get it. I doubt you'd be unsatisfied.

Re: RR1907 spotted
I think that $1k is too much for guitar with that kind of damage but that is me. I would say closer to $800 but that is me (I am sure in another few years, that would be a good deal based on how I see the Jackson market going). Most people are down on Kahlers these days and that can effect value (and even though I like Kalher's fine, I hate chrome and would be thinking about the $200 I would have to spend for the replacement."I''ll say what I'm gonna say, cuz I'm going to Hell anyway!"

Re: RR1907 spotted
way too high with that kind of damage .. it takes an awful hit to produce a ding a 1/2" deep, that urethane finish is damn tough and the poly white primer under it is nearly bullet proof.
clean customs with kahlers might bring upwards of a grand.
if its a student with kahler and no wild/rare graphic you can almost cut that in half, and further detract if damaged.
keep looking theres lots of "nice" kahlered rhoads out there for reasonable money.
