Aside from the difference in body size, a Dinky is a bolt-on and a Soloist is a neck-thru.

A Fusion has a 24.75" scale neck, Dinkys and Soloists have the same body size, and a 25.5" scale neck, the only difference being that the Dinkys are bolt-on and the Soloists are neck-through.

Yes, the body was exactly like a Fusion. The body accepted both Dinky 24 and Fusion necks. I know. I had set it up with both types of necks at one time or another. What Jackson did to lengthen the scale for the Dinky 24 neck was shift the bolt on area down 3/4" to push the nut another 3/4" away from the bridge, creating the 25 1/2" scale. This is why you can't use one of these necks on a standard Dinky body. If you tried it would push the scale to 26 1/4".

The outlines of the regular Dinky and Soloist are pretty much the same.

but there are 2 sizes of dinky 22 & 24 fret, yes the body is different. & i dont know of any 22 fret soloists.

My 96 Dinky is 22 frets, I wonder when they ended that run.

Jamie, the SL4 only had 22 frets.
