Both are good sitting guitars (for the lazy folk) and both are easily chipped (by the clumsy)

Re: rhoads or king v
I like the look of the Rhoads better, but the King V is a wonderful guitar. As Newc said, the points will get chipped by the clumsy (or careless) and sitting while playing they are equally comfortable, but much better with a strap and standing.KV DM PRO, SLSXMG, RRXMG, DXMG, LP P90 Goldtop_GSP1101_RM4: JF SL-OD100_Randall RT2/50_Peavey 4x12 cab

Re: rhoads or king v
The Rhoads' top wing is longer than the wings of a KV. The original King V was a Double Rhoads (two long wings of a Rhoads).
And yes, the KV generally has 24 frets.

Re: rhoads or king v
They're both great guitars. I think I wouldn't like my KV as much if it didn't have jumbo frets, mine does, and it also has a gibson-type toggle as opposed to a blade switch, so I guess I'm lucky in that regard...
Get whatever you think you would like more. I don't own a Rhoads yet, but I will.
Both great guitars. The 2nd Amendment: America's Original Homeland Defense.

Re: rhoads or king v
I told him almost a month ago he should have bought the Road Hazard Yellow Rhoads because it was 24frets and he could get it now for around 1500. Nope still did not make up his mind and missed out on that opportunity and we at other Forums (I will not say which) have to put up with this guys crappy posts. By the way if you want a 24fret Rhoads now it will be 2000+ dollars and 12months + of waiting time.
