• Help identifying 1983 San Dimas

Hi, I have a jackson that i have identified from the serial no as being from 193 san dimas factory. its neck thru body, white, black hardware, the headstock is not reversed, and its got a floyd rose. sharkfin inlays. pickups are bridge humbucker (sealed unit) and two single coils (sealed units). I've had it for a while but still have no idea which model it is. can anyone help?
thanks

A picture would help.

damn no pics, becuase ive taken it to the local shop for adjustments, sorry . however, i can tell you its in the super strat shape if you know what i mean, 24 frets, and it was set up for 9 gauge with 3 springs when i bough it. erm, im trying to describe as best i can without a pic. whie all over, including the painted neck. tuners are standard jackson, vol/tone pots are the black, knurled texture type, 5 way pickup selector.
sorry about the lack of pic, but if you can narrow it down to a range of models, or perhaps even tell me some models that it ISNT, that would be helpful.
thanks

Sounds like a Soloist. What is the SN?

Re: Help identifying 1983 San Dimas

Hmm...thats not an old San Dimas with that number. Is the SN stamped on the end of the fingerboard at the 24th fret?
Is it J002587 plus more digits? How many more?
Are you 100% certain the letter isn't a U that was stamped funky? These are stamped by hand.

yeah its at the 24th fret. not sure of the number of digits, i think one more digit after that, and now you mention it it could well be a U, also its hard to tell whether the 5 is a 6. this would make it ontario right? any ideas

Re: Help identifying 1983 San Dimas

that sounds likely to my after a look through the gallery. http://www.jcfonline.com/gallery/jac...pics/J1339.jpg it is almost identical to that one, pickups etc. differences :
mine has one vol 2 tone
the pickup selector (underneath the pots) is a fiveway strat style one

thanks

http://www.jcfonline.com/gallery/jac...solo-pro91.jpg
that is IDENTICAL to my guitar to the last detail. its described as a soloist pro in snow white pearl thanks for all your help guys.
what would be the typical value of one of these, its in near perfect condtion, only a couple of buckle scratches on the cover of the springs in the back, along with a couple of small nicks on the body. not that im thinking of selling, i just want some closure ! haha
thanks for your help

My guess is about 400-500 dollars in good shape.

haha good point, even when i bought it i wasnt told which country it was, so no blame lies with the store. i checked the serial number, and due to being hand stamped its not easy to read. I read it as J002587 and looking at the chart took it to be 1983 san dimas. I should have known better when it said "made in japan" on a neck sticker . So we are pretty much sure its a soloist pro, japanese import. anyone any idea on the year?
thanks
