Re: Stolen KV

That's great, Vince! Where was the paperwork? Hope this info will help you get the King V back! You've been a loyal King V owner for years & years!

Like so much old stuff, it was in a box with a bunch of old memorabilia from past times, including a crapload of RIP magazines, Circus magazines, tour book and old band flyers

Ron... I'm packing all weekend, and I'm in BFE

Some of the stuff I found is way cool, old Thrash Metal magazines, but best of all, hand drawn flyers from the '80s when I used to live in Chile, and we played metal show down there, classic!!!

Still have any documents, receipts, with the serial on it? Have thepolice put that into the computers so if the dick head who stole it ever tries to pawn it or get it insured, it'll show up.

Who cares about how long something has been, especially if it has sentimental value? People don't have a right to steal, and shouldn't be allowed to get away with it.

Well... that is only if the pawn shops do what they are supposed to do and many don't. I had two guitars stolen and had the serials for them both. I got one back (1986 Strat Elite) because the pawn shop did what it was supposed to do. The other (1986 Charvel model 6) and have never gotten back.

I don't have the original receipt from Guitar Center, but I do have the tag as shown above and the letter with my name on it, from the same time, that's it. I really don't excpect to get it back, but better to have tried and failed than never to have tried at all

You don't need your original reciept. Only the police report where it describes the guitar that was stolen.

Unfortunately I don't have that, although I could always get a copy of it from the station, that is if they keep records that long in one place.

                          Re: Stolen KV

Interestingly enough, I called the station in question and asked about getting a copy... they said I needed to call the LAPD headquarters, so I did. The message says they only hold reports for 10 years... bummer.

Well, I appreciate that if anyone comes accross this guitar to please let me know as I am totally willing to buy it back.

                          Thanks much!
