Hey hey. I would be interested if everything were open like the model. I did not get in on the first model just because I am not a big fan of white. I know there were some mentions of a firebird, and I would be all for that. That may be impossible now, but other models would be great as well. How about a Vinnie Vincent model, or a Chris Holmes Star? Just ideas.

Well if it were to happen it is my belief that Curt,Greg and Sully busted their as*es to get Robbin the recognition he deserved. They deserve to see the fruit of their labor become a reality and Robbin deserves it for bringing the Jackson name into the mainstream market. I'm not sure if this is something Fender is intersted in at this point but I cannot see this happen at select pricing.. that doesn't meant that they wuldn't work with us on all the other issue's .. but I'm pretty sure it would be a fairly expensive guitar to build ..

You are likely right about pricing. The FDP Strat was essentially a production American Standard Strat with a special custom color finish and with optional matching headstock and special engraved neckplate. From what I remember the price was damn close to full retail of an off the shelf American Standard Strat. The FDP cases were $150 (with a silly book included Fender couldn't sell).

Assuming the remote possibilty of an 02, with same quantity (or more/less), etc. whatever...
Given all the hoops and hurdles just to get the idea of the series restarted, especially Big Red, I imagine the hayday over who is in will be, ya know, ill. [img]graemlins/puke.gif[/img]

Not to stir the ****, but 'technically', several people sold their 01's [img]graemlins/nono.gif[/img] which was to be interpreted the first go round as nailing the coffin for keeping their spot/#. That means there 'should' be several spots open. Now, If that isn't stirring, I would bet a few who sold 01 (whether model dislike or in protest), and really wants 02, will get their way. [img]graemlins/bs.gif[/img]

Aside from all that, I'm sure that an opportunity for an 02 will take a completely different path from 01, and everyone will be gleefully happy, [img]graemlins/toast.gif[/img]

actually, the way it went was this:
you can sell your 01, but if you also opt out of 02, you lose your #. if you sold your 01, it didn't mean you lost your 02.

however, i'm sure that if and when the time arises, there may be a spot or two available. and like i've said, if any of you want to get one made (and were one of the original 30), i can get you your signed plate.

Sully, if hell freezes over and this does get going again, I'll take a spot regardless of the price. I'd happily pay more to get a better quality instrument than what I've seen on the first edition for $1400. Thanks.

yes, if it ever happens, it will be big red as planned. i had been speaking with vinnie about a possible jcf/VVV run, and he was very interested in participating... then he dropped of the face of the earth! [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

anyway, sit tight, and if it happens, we'll letcha know. one thing to keep in mind though, is that the series was to be 30 guitars, and those numbers were already spoken for. if this series is resurrected, there may not be slots available.
again, i'm WAY ahead of myself here, but just fyi.

yeah, he drops off and then comes back after a few months...he's done it about 3-4 times since i've started talking to him last summer.
