Re: CS Maple with Sharkies

OMG. Bob, this is the most asskicking guitar I've ever played.

The "that I've ever played" part isn't really saying a lot around here, but in lamer circles I'm the biggest gear whore around. (Isn't that a lot like saying that here I can't play at all, but at my sons preschool, I'm Yngwie Fukkin Malmsteen?)

No wonder this thing came to me in a dream while the auction was still live. We've connected. This guitar is the answer to my need for a SUCK REMOVAL pedal, or similar switch on my amp.

Bonding is the mildest way to put it, Jim. I swear, I may take it to bed with me tonight. Just to stay close.

What ticked me off about the pictures is that I screened them for focus: I thought these were all clear. Then when I posted them, I checked the links to make sure I typed it all in right, and I thought - "ugh, these are NOT in focus." AND she looks better than they show.

Dave: slow down, enjoy the coffee. Of course, income is good, too.

Cruster: that SERIOUSLY cracks me up. And congrats on the milestone.

Mr. DeVito: thanks for not chopping it up for more pickups. I suppose you can have visitation whenever you'd like, just don't make any sudden moves.

                Re: CS Maple with Sharkies

Been getting more serious with the cleaning and setup. (See also, my thread on stinky linseed oil.) Pulled out the pickup, certain that it was going to be an 85 because this is one of the warmest, darkest EMG's I've ever heard.

It is an 81. I couldn't believe it. There's your mahogany for you. Unless there is a huge tonal difference between the 'old' direct-wired pickups and the newer quickconnect ones, which I doubt.

If I ever meet Aaron (Bobby, it was Aaron who ordered it, right?) I may just have to hug him. In a totally hetero way.

                More pics on the way...

                  Re: CS Maple with Sharkies

I just can't stop touching it. Playing with it. Caressing it.

                  The guitar, I mean.

I've never played a 'new' guitar this much. Not even my first. Of course, back then, my fingers couldn't have taken all the string time.

If I ever put it down long enough, I'll take some better pics. Maybe I should just have the Mrs. take some of me playing it - that way I don't have to put it down.

Sorry to keep going on, but I've never ever been this high this long over new gear.

So where the hell are these new pics, Keith? I don't care if they're the guitar alone, or you playing it, or your wife playing it, or your wife playing you with the guitar in the background -- JUST GET US SOME NEW PICS!!!!
