Randy Rhoads, Robbin Crosby, Dave Mustaine, Oz Fox, Vinnie Vincent, Scott Ian, Dan Spitz, Phil Collen......but most of all when I played my 1st one......I immediately sold off a couple other axes and bought my USA Soloist....the rest is history!

Wanted a KV2...met Dave Mustaine, decided to go for a Y2KV. Got the Y2KV and still wanted the KV2, got it and love it.

In the 80's atleast one member from all my favorite bands played a Jackson. I also felt the Soloist was a classic design.

I liked the rhoads' and the Kelly's and the soloists. I didnt care much for OFR's... but I wanted a USA strat style body, so I tried some SL1's and they were real nice in feel, the only thing I didnt like were the 2 single coils, then I found a store with a SL2 and I knew that was what I was looking for, so Last week I ordered it! Ok, why did I pick the Soloist? Good price, lack of competition for it at the time due to it being a beater [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] and everyone raved about them [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Got the Warbird Warrior because of the Custom Shop ad in a guitar magazine [img]graemlins/drool2.gif[/img]

Got the JCF01 Rhoads because that was the coolest thing I'd ever seen on an online forum - a bunch of fans getting together to do historically signficant tribute models [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]

Got a PCS Rhoads for $1350 BIN to be a "Me Too! Collector" - sold it for $1025 to stop being one (stupid stupid stupid).

Got my USA Dragon Dinky because the graphic is killer.

Got a Custom Shop Jackson Strat with RoadRunner/Coyote graphic and one single coil because I was hoping to rake in the money with it - traded for an Archtop Soloist Custom Shop for the same reason - traded that for an Ash King V Custom Shop for the same reason [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] Neither of my nefarious financial schemes seemed to pan out [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Got a San Dimas Jackson Student model Concert bass because it was rare and cheap. Found a San Dimas Soloist with a matching serial number (1000 nuumbers lower) and had H-S-H because that's my favorite pickup combo. Sold both like a dumbass.

Got a Snakeskin USA Fusion from a store dirt friggin cheap and sold it for a very small profit (didn't really like the blue/grey snake anyway, or at least that's what I keep telling myself).

And I think that's all the USA Jacksons I've had.

Still got the JCF, the Warbird, and the Dragon, though.

What got me to buy my first US Jackson?
Well two things. It's a US Jackson and the employee discount I had at MGR.
It's a modded 86 2 hum solist in black sparkle.
Its got a coil tap on both pots for each pickup.
It was converted from the Kahler tradidional trem to a Wilkinson. Then I changed that to a OFR.
It's a great playing and sounding guitar but has no value except for its playablilty. [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

I chose a DK1 because of the EMGs.They're standard on this guitar and I can afford it. Also, I grew up in the 80's. And yes, I'm old.

Since here in germany there aren't many USA Jacksons around and even fewer for sale there wasn't a big number to choose from for me. After all i can't afford a new one so i searched german ebay for a long time til i found a gun metal grey Soloist i could afford. And it plays great [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]

What made me want a USA Jackson? I don't own one, but I do plan on getting one. Mostly I decided to pick one up because this little snot nosed kid I was teaching went out and bought a brand new SL1 in red. This was in November last year when the buyout was going on. He got it for like $999. Anyway, at first I didn't like it, but after playing another one with a TB-6 in the bridge it blew my mind. Not that the TB-4 it comes with is bad. I am the proud owner of a DK2 and have had a Charvel Model 2 and a mid 90's Jackson DR Professional. I loved em all and got rid of the DR and the Model 2 which still kills me. That snot nosed kid (very good friend and excellent guitar player) has his SL1 ready to go every time I go see him and every time I play it I can't wait to get my own. Playability, tone, looks...........second to none.

I bought my first Jackson in 1988, an RR1 in Lightning Sky because I was a huge Metallica fan and love Kirk Hammets Rhoads, had to have one, sold it 2 years later because the body style wasn`t me. Jack.

bought my Y2KV red ghost flames in 2001. Big fan of Dave Mustaine and Megadeth. Bought KV2 Korina a few months later. Man...how can you NOT buy a Korina KV2 guitar. That guitar was jut beautiful!
Then in 2003 I traded them both!

But now, I have a 98 KV1 Black Pearl and a 98 KE1(black).
Will be ordering my first custom shop within the month too!

also, I think I hangout too much in this forum. Makes me wanna buy them all!!!
