Re: What made you select your first USA Jackson?

I wanted a neck thru with a strat style body. The SL1 was just what I wanted

Re: What made you select your first USA Jackson?

being a child of the 80s, I saw many a Jackson in videos of the bands I liked-Megadeth, Anthrax, etc.

It seemed all the great bands were playing them!

I picked one up at a store when I was about 16..could not afford it, but I would have one in time!

A year later or so, I bought a (unknown to me then) a Charvel model 550XL. I LOVE that guitar! I almost sold it but I am glad I kept it!

AFter a LEs Paul and a PRS, I was just burnt out on high end guitars. Ended up in a music store with a friend as he tried out Warlocks-he then hands me a KE2.

That was that!

I had my PRS sold in a day or two, and went back and bought the Kelly.

USA or Custom Shop Jacksons from here out!

Re: What made you select your first USA Jackson?

Had to be Jackson due to an obsession with Megadeth (first heavy album i ever heard/bought was countdown at the age of eleven). I always wanted a Kelly, but the first Jackson I got was a MIJ RR, trans violet i think, due to being the best playing jackson in the shop (out of 2, being Glasgow). finally got a Kelly USA from ebay this year, trans black, chrome hardware. not a fan of chrome hardware to be honest, but it was the only flame maple finish i saw (has to be flame maple, always, heheh) and it actually looks pretty cool with the black body. totally knocked out by this guitar, can't believe the difference between it and the Japan, now i need a RR USA too...

First I bought Japanese RR guitar because it was cheapier than USA RR but nowadays I have 5 different USA Jackson´s and I can´t play anything else no more because USA Jackson´s rules!!!

BR,
Tommi

Re: What made you select your first USA Jackson?

I loved Charvels/Jacksons since seeing Bruce Kulick playing them on the Kiss Animalize concert on MTV (1984). Thanks to Kurt Cobain making everyone want Fender guitars, I was able to get my first USA Jackson ( a San Dimas camo-strat, #3600) for $299. I have recently acquired a 2002 RR-1T (silver with black bevels) and a 1989 RR-1 (red with black bevels), which have become my main guitars.

I bought my first USA Jackson since it only cost me 400$

That's how much a USED Ibanez RG500< goes for in sweden. I had no choice really

Re: What made you select your first USA Jackson?

I don't own a Jackson, but I do plan to buy an RR1T as soon as I can find a place that has one for me to try out. I haven't had any luck with that so far. I would say, however, that Jake E. Lee influenced me to buy my Charvel back in the mid 80's.

Re: What made you select your first USA Jackson?

I have never selected my first USA Jackson.
yep,
but i will one day i hope.
my first Jackson was a Stealth EX. great guitar and i read that they compare very well against a USA model.
i hope to get some usa model though, something string thru with a wicked ass paint job.
Jackson has always been one of those guitars that i would see and admire. I like BC Rich too as well as some others.
but USA made guitars have usually been out of my reach money wise.
i walked into a pawn shop one day and seen the stealth and my jaw dropped and i had to have it.
Bought a TH-1 later too.

Re: What made you select your first USA Jackson?

I wanted something different. So to sway away from the common "tooth" shape/style, also known as a "strat". I was drawn to the dynamic looking "Flying V".

Re: What made you select your first USA Jackson?

I always wanted to get a real USA Jackson.
My First Jackson/Charvel was Model 5 which was made in Japan but played great.
I wanted something similar to what Scott Ian at the time in 88-89 was using.
My first USA Jackson was a Strat shape Ontario made.

Re: What made you select your first USA Jackson?

Wanted a guitar that played as well as I could play it (if you know what I mean). Used to play Kramers in the 80's and remembered a snakeskin Jackson that I used to work on for a guy in NY that made me want one. So fast foward 15 years and I walk into Guitar Center with the wife to check out some "shred guitars" and she notices an Eeerie Dess DK-2 and says I should try it. I HATED the color but as soon as I got it in my hands I knew it was mine. I tried a few others but the ED DK-2 was just made for my hands. After playing that for a few weeks non-stop (I couldn't put it down) I found this place and started learning about J/C's and got the jones on for a USA SL-1 when I came across my Lightning Bolt '90 USA Fusion. This guitar is so nice it is amazing. I am now in the process of selling all of my Strats and looking for my next USA J/C. Rock on!

When I was a kid the only Jacksons available were USA Jacksons.
