Re: What made you select your first USA Jackson?

i started playing in late ´94
i still drool over my old 94 j/c catalogue
long years i only had a hohner st lynx (kind of stealth body with just a little smaller jackson-hs) so i was addicted to hm design and angled hs
for spare and to tinker i had a warlock
with earning own money(and discovering ebay) i went on bying and selling cheap crap with jackson-like headstocks
sometime i fell over a red model 1 and it is really great
from this date all i wanted was a real Charvel or Jackson strat, but i can´t afford them
besides this here in germany arén´t many C/J Guitars for sale, so you take what you get
in 2002 a local dealer closed and i was happy to get a PS6T for good money
and i discovered that my right forearm rests very confortable on kellys
so i decided to concentrate on kellys now
finally last year there was a KE-2(U05636 transblack) for good money in excellent condition and i had to have it
i´m still payin´ for it, but it´s worth to be economical...
i never let her out of my hands again she´s a very fine axe
i think of buying a death-angel or a costom kelly within the next years

Re: What made you select your first USA Jackson?

I picked a USA Fusion because my favorite body style is a Strat and because the original Charvel guitars were Strat style. The Fusion is so versatile! With the five position PUP selector switch, I can get fat humbucking sounds out of the Bridge HB, Hendrixy, SRVish tone out of the neck PUP, and Claptonish/Knopfleresque sounds out of the 2 and 4 positions. My first CHarvel Jackson was a Soloist, which I loved, so it was only natural when I graduated to a USA model to go with something similar. I chose the Fusion over the Soloist because I have chronic Tennis Elbow and the shorter scale on the Fusion makes bending strings a bit easier, though it does alter the tone somewhat. Not worse just different, a little less "Straty". I would still love a USA neck-thru and am partial to Soloists, though I would probably go with a Kelly or a Rhoades since the Soloist is so similiar to the Fusion. I love the King V as well, but those are hard to play sitting down. You kind of have to put the inside of the "V" section right in your crotch which is not a comfortable playing position for me, though I know others have no problem with it.

My first USA was and is my only USA is a my jackson sl2h mah... why i got it because i first saw/heard about jackson by listening to randy rhoads , and then on the old emg site i saw pat lachmans trans black soloist with the chrome 81 thats what i had to have! and now i do. It's the easiest playing guitar in the world, and just the way it hangs off you in your hands is enough to make you want to take it home I'd have 15 USA jacksons by now... but being 15, with school, and only working in the summer, permits one jackson for now.. My first USA was my '99 kv1. I bought it bacause I always wanted a usa model king v with a fixed bridge. Kind of a step up from the king v standard I had been playing for 5 years prior to that

Re: What made you select your first USA Jackson?

From the early 90's that I've been in love with the RR model (I played a Charvette 200). Since here in ARTGENTINA there aren't many USA Jacksons around and even fewer for sale there wasn't a big number to choose from for me. I bought my used RR1 USA for less than 600 bucks (1700 argentinian pesos). Mine is a black Neck Thru RR1 USA (not shure about the year) loded with: EMG-60 in neck position and EMG-81 in bridge. Bridge is Schaller Germany double locking trem(with Jackson stamp) and Khaler Nut Lock , and of course with its hardshell case. It's unbeliable I found the exactly specs I most desire in a guitar from a used guitar! And here in ARGENTINA! Think shoud be the hand of God!(Metal God ) .

I'd say the Bay Area thrash movement had a lot to do with grabbing my attention. Many of those guys were playing Jacksons - Exodus, Mordred, + other thrash bands. Mustaine was another big reason back in the day. Then I saw Nocturnus with an early Warrior and that was the end of that. It was the coolest guitar I'd ever seen at that time. I had to have one, but it was years before I got the chance to own one. I'm hooked now.

Re: What made you select your first USA Jackson?

Hey, here's my first post! I got my first Jackson about 5 years ago, a 1989 Strat with a strat headstock. I'd been wanting an '80's guitar for a long, having graduated H.S. in 1985. I found what was supposed to be a used "USA Jackson" at Guitar Center. I took it home because the headstock said "Made in USA" but I was suspicious. The body was stamped "375 DX" so it was an import Charvel body with a USA neck. I returned it the next day and the sales guy asked what I wanted to do. I said that I'd take the strat-head Jackson on the wall, half in jest. Well, about 10 minutes later I was walking out the door with my guitar. Tim Wilson ran the serial number (a San Dimas plate) and the work order on the body and they match, though the strat-head Jackson neck was added later. Great guitar - I love it.

Re: What made you select your first USA Jackson?

I think it's the uncorrupted quality of the manufacturing, which made me choose a Jackson. + a Neckthru, which I was very curious about+Randy, of course.
What would really suck is that if ESP completely kills Jackson. I would urge you guys to take an action. What action - let's decide, but don't just sit and wait until Jackson is dead or making shit.

I've had many a Jackson over the years from the 80's, 90's and now. but could never quite afford a U.S.A. Custom. I've always been the "starving" musician.... until now. Just ordered my first U.S.A. Jackson http://webpages.charter.net/mgun/SLS-BCSBa.jpg the next 3-6 months will go by so slow.
The reason to get a USA or any jackson fot that matter, is quite simple for me.. the necks.
