BTW, re: you not being sure if it's amber sunburst. It is, if it's like this (my custom Dinky)...

If there's more red to the body, then it's probably cherry sunburst. If the edges are black, then it's burnt cherry burst. Hope that helps.

Mine is flamed, yours looks more quilted although the color looks very close. Mine also hase chrome hardware and matching headstock with pearl "Jackson" inlay.

      Jackson SL-1

I am a new guy. I just bought a lightly used (looks brand new!) 2000 flame top SL1. I think it is an 801 (ASB), Amber Sunburst, but I'm not sure. This is my first Jackson. The Duncan JB sounds a little weak compared to my '86 Kramer Baretta with a JB, but I probably won't change it. The thing looks freakin' awesome. I have several others guitars, but none as beautiful as this one. Any thoughts or comments for the new guy?

Yeah. Rule #1 around here is you can't discuss your new acquisitions without also posting pictures of it. Pics now!

And, oh BTW, congrats on the SL1.

Like I said, it's a custom-ordered Dinky, made to my specs. The SL1 is a USA Select production guitar. Kick@ss still and made in the custom shop, too.

I only threw the pic up to have an exampe to try and explain the transparent color differences. The other features you mentioned (quilted maple, gold hardware, etc.) are not done on SL1s.

The top on yours looks bad ass and it appears to be the same color as mine.
