ManyAxes is correct, I have a second generation style 1985 Kelly Custom (J0604) in transparent red. There are some other San Dimas era Kelly owners here on the board as well.

I have J04something (can't remember). She is a San Dimas original, 2 hummer, with a Factory Floyd! Not too many of them out there, and I looked a good long while before I found this one. Black with white pins and black hardware with a gold Floyd and clamp. Extremely cool guitar, one of the best that I own.

The neck is glued to the body.
When it's painted it kinda looks like a neck-through.

                Here's a 1984 Special Explorer (Kelly) Student
San Dimas with factory cut-outs. I bought it from a store in New Jersey 10 years ago for $650.00. Looks like it ended up in Germany.
