• Group pic of my guitars...

Finally got around to taking a group pic and taught I'd share it. Here's my collection:

From left to right:
2000 Jackson KV1 Mustaine signature, black (Thanks Brett!)
1989 Jackson Custom Shop KV, silver metal flake (Build for Rick Gould as a compensation for catalog photos) (Thanks Robert!)
1984 Jackson Custom RR, bought from Chris Holmes
1998 Jackson Custom Rhoads, tribute to the zebra/lionheads original layout. (Thanks Justin!)
1988 Jackson Custom Star, bolt-on oil-neck, JE-1000 electronics

...but still missing a neck-thru star...

Happy holidays to all!

Two in that picture make me cry...the DM KV (I had two so Jani got one), and Justin's Cross-inlayed RR. I wanted it for less than his asking price, but Justin had a firm offer from Jani, so I didn't get it.

Nice stuff dude.

congratulations on knowing what you like and going after it. I like your bridges! Any Jackson with a tail piece is mind blowing. Please post close-ups of the Holmes Lion if you can. I have that white strat that GMW did w/ the lion paintjob and would like to compare.

My god - I always loved that Chris Holmes lion V. It's one of my 'cut my right arm off' guitars! (along with the bud star and the Spitz turtles)More pics please!.....is it beat to sh*t though?
Cheers

Thanks for your kind comments!

L - Dan got the lion graph from a tattoo book and he still has it. He has done one copy of this zebra/lionhead graph on a GMW pointy star (early 90s). I think the pic is on GMW website.
I'd love to see pics of your strat!!!
Here's a link to Dan's graphic album:
http://autumn-frost.com/album/album.html

Neilli - That rhoads was my dream guitar also. I was very very lucky to get it. The guitar is beaten but the neck and fretboard are perfect and headstock has only minor dings. The body has that famous crack and the V-points have been beaten. I was expecting it to be a lot worse.
Chris used the body to hit people so the most important parts were safe. BTW I also love the Spitz turtles!

j2379 - The lionhead used to be the same as the white one. So it was a regular rhoads body. Chris broke the top wing at a concert and took the guitar back to Custom Shop for repair work. He wanted a smaller wing and a zebra graph. Dan suggested adding the lionhead.

I'm planning on putting all the info about the guitar on my website so stay tuned for that. Here's the current "under construction" page:

I've also posted a lot of action shots on the yahoo Chris Holmes group at http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/chrisholmes

RR - thanks for putting up the info about the chris holmes group...great pics in there. So Holmes' V never had a painted pickup cover, only a painted pickup ring?

Here is the strat:

Re: Group pic of my guitars...

L, You are right - there was no painted pickup cover. What puzzles me is that in the first photo of the finished painting it seems there's no route for a pickup either - just the ring?! I have to ask Dan about that. I have a photo from the custom shop when the guitar has been fully assembled and it has a black pickup and ring. I just got this pic from Dan - signed by him and Chris!

Thanks for the Strat pics. AWESOME!
I'm pretty sure Dan used the same tattoo book pic for that also cause there are so many similarities.

RR,it's routed, that's the painted pickup cover in the route in that pic!! Probably dumped both the cover & the pickup ring when changing pickups as the covered hums can be a little muddy!! Chucksplatter

I think you are right Bloodspatter. I know it has a route cause it was a refinish, but in the pic it looks like it was filled. It does look like a painted cover now that you said it.
Thanks!
I wonder where the cover is now...
