About a RR Jackson Guitar

I'm a newbie, remember?! I just want some advices from you my people. I saw on eBay an USA RR Jackson Guitar. It needs some wood work to fix its cosmetics, but not too much in my opinion. I forgot the item number but if you check you will know wich is cause it's cheap. It has EMG pickups(he said), the neck is in good condition (he said), and it comes with its case. That maybe a good therapy to me cause I'm disable though I'm youg (got my 33 birthday on Wednesday)and have a lot time to waste. What do you think? Does it worth? Another thing I would like to ask you is about your opinion of that guitars with neck through body, and bolt on neck. Wich do you prefer?
