          Re: Weird SL2H Custom???

Nice one. Looks like a modern SL2H. Likely that someone replaced the original black hardware with chrome, and the Duncans with EMG's. Brett, can you measure the actual width of the guitar at the nut? Not the nut itself, but the top edge of the 1st fret. I'm wondering if someone just installed an R5 on there where the R3 was originally. Also, what's the precise serial number? If it's less than U03000 then it could be the transition neck, because around 1995 Jackson went to the neck profile that's in use today. From about 1994 through about 1995 they used a slighly fatter/wider feeling profile.

If anyone wants this Soloist, email me. I can't get used to the big neck so I'm going to sell it.

              Thanks for the help.

The nut measures 1 3/4" - it's an R5 for sure, and the serial is not UO...its just U-something. The hang tag says it's a 2001.

If I was still into playing...I would probably be interested. Love those big necks......like the super huge necks on Spanish classicals better though.-Lou
