                    Re: Kirks Rhoads

I got an RR1t in black and a 84 custom rhoads string thru like Kirks. There are differences in the two guitars the 84 rhoads is a slightly different body shape than the new RR1T. Plus the nut is black on the San Dimas just like Kirks and the binding goes over the fret ends. The RR1T has a white nut and regular binding. Kirks guitar also had an EMG H in the neck and a 81 in the bridge. I heard he ordered it through Guitar center in SF back at the end of 84 and picked it up in 85 at Jackson. If you look at the Master of Puppets CD inset he thanks GC as well as Jackson in it. Here is a link to some pics of my rhoads

By the way the bridge is also different on Kirks rhoads compared to the new RR1T. I also have the same bridge on my San Dimas if you look at pics of Kirks and mine. Sound wise the San DImas rhoads kicks my RR1t's ass. To tell you the truth I was disappointed in my RR1t but very happy with my San Dimas.

                        Re: Kirks Rhoads

That was a pic to the original auction I backdoored the guitar from the seller for about a 1000 dollars. It cleaned up real nice and the brass truss rod cover looks brand new after I polished it I bet I could turn around and sell it for 1500 dollars no problem but no I am not going to sell it but if you want my black RR1T with EMGs in it I will sell that one to you.

So what makes your RR1T with the emgs not as good as the 85?

                            Are the necks the same?

I am interested in the rr1t, please email me photos on the above address.
