That's a new pic! The other one's been posted a couple times. What strikes me is how large it is on James. I wonder if it was actually a Double Rhoads size.
do you guys know if James had an ESP endorsment already in the mid-eighties? like on MOP?
cuz it struck me that the "kill bon jovi" sticker is placed right on top of the Jackson logo, effectively concealing it! (He could've put it on the horns instead y'know?)

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">If he had an endorsement with ESP in the Mid 80's, then why did they allow him to show off his Gibson headstock logo on the "Garage Days Revisited" album cover? Why doesn't James have a list of endorsements on the "..And Justice for All" liner like everyone else in the band has? Kirk never covered his Jackson logo. Maybe James just wanted to have fun with the headstock.
james never had an endorsement till metallica officially got greedy. around say black album or load. up to that point he had said in several interviews he buys all his stuff and thought giving free stuff to rock stars was retarded.
He also said that he covered the logo because he didn't want to do any free advertising for anyone.
And though that V does look large on him, you have to remember he was still young at the time (18-22?), and though you do stop growing UPWARDS at a certain age, you begin to expand after that, so today his WIDTH would have increased (from shoulder to shoulder, as well as from spine to breastbone) even though his height didn't change (which, in actuality, his height DID change - he thought he was 6'1" but he went for Chiropractic treatment and came out 6'3" - his spine had compressed 2" due to his slouching)
And white guitars look bigger on everyone.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Like what? His was custom made with a stoptail piece instead of string-thru, 22 frets. You can still order it in the Custom Shop like that.
