• New member showing off his Jackson Soloist!

Hi, Im new to the Jackson/Charvel Forum and I would like to say what a great site this is for Jackson/Charvel enthusiasts. Thanks! Here is a photo of my one and only Jackson. Made in '87 in Ontario CA. It is the very best guitar of the dozen or so guitars I own!

What would be the official name of that graphic?

Nice guitar, and welcome to the forum. Since this is the best of the dozen you own, ditch the rest and get more Jacksons.

I believe that is called "3D Grid".

I have a single humbucker 87 bolt-on with that graphic. I believe Jim Shine is correct on the name.

Re: New member showing off his Jackson Soloist!

Thanks for the welcome and the comments on my Jackson. I picked it up four years ago in a Dallas pawnshop for $190 out the door. Sold it on Ebay two years ago and missed it sorely. One day while thinking about how stupid I was, I searched Ebay for Jackson Soloist and THERE IT WAS! The same guy I sold it to had it listed for sale! I made a back door deal and paid him $850 (same price he paid me)and now it is back where it belongs. I guess it was meant to be. Anyone have a similar story?

Re: New member showing off his Jackson Soloist!

i have the same story about my Ibanez UV77MC.i bought it from some kid then sold it like 2 months later and kicked myself in the ass everyday for 4 years.then i decided to track it down ,the music store that i sold it to "tried" ( i use that term losely)to help me find it.i gave them my name ,address and phone number and told them if the guy that bought it ever came in the store to get him to call me.
anyway about 6 months later i was searching ebay for a universe and what did i see! my guitar!!
i emailed the seller with my phone number ,told him that the guitar he was selling was mine and to call me. about 5 min later the phone rang and it was him. he told me he had been searching for me for about 3 months to see if i wanted to buy it back, told me he went to the music store where he bought it and asked about me and they told him they didnt even know who i was or where to start looking for me(this came from the same guy i gave my info to).anyway he lived in a different province the me and he drove here to give me the guitar in person.how cool was that?

i think your guitar wanted to be with you like mine wanted to be with me. its fate

Re: New member showing off his Jackson Soloist!

Well, I have the same story in that I sold a Jackson I loved dearly, but I've not yet found the guitar again to get it back (I contacted the guy I sold it to and he had sold it to someone else).

I do figure that if I keep an eye out, the thing may well turn up somewhere. I keep half expecting to see someone post a "Check out my new Jackson" thread here and see it.

And speaking of your 3D grid guitar (which is quite nice), there was a singe hum bolt-on with that paint job hanging for years in a pawn shop near where I lived (Amarillo, at the time), and the price kept getting lower and lower. I never pulled the trigger, but I wish I had as it was in great condition and going for about $250 the last time I saw it.
