Probably not a fake - it's usually not worth faking a neck-through. Some guitars escaped the shop without a serial number, but they don't seem to be too common.

This definitely happens sometimes. My WR1 was delivered about a month ago without a SN#. You can check out the thread here:

thanx, everyone.
Now I'm sure it's not a fake - it has "made in usa" on the headstock, seymours, original floyd, ebony fretboard, abalone inlays. Everything shows it's a USA made guitar. Looks like someone forgot about putting a serial at the factory : )
I'll visit my friend to see it in person, but now I can tell him that he shouldn't return it to seller.

my friend owns a usa kelly. Here a specs:
black finish over entire guitar (including back of neck)
2 sd tb-4 (or JB and Jazz)
floyd rose original
24 frets
abalone logo, sharkfin markers
well, set-in neck or neck-through - noone knows
BUT no serial under 24 fret!!!
What does this mean?
Please, help asap! probably this is a fake?
