Re: USA SLS WOOHOO!

Thanks I'm not crazy about the color (always hated TobaccoBurst Les Pauls - I prefer Cherry Sunburst like my NASL, and Page's LP ) but I'm willing to give it a try. If it gets on my nerves too bad, I'll have it refinished

I'm also hoping the TOM on it has a lot of travel in the saddles - it looks like it's straight even with the pickup ring

Anyhoo, thanks for the help with Ishibashi and such (they actually did reply to my email!) but with this purchase I'll have to pass on the Falcon

Newc, no problem!
I thought the price of the Falcon was bit high and I have see them going for much less.
I will let you know when I see one.

That is nice.
I'm still new to the scene. What is the history on those?

Not sure of the history - SuperLight Soloist made of mahogany, but very thin bodies (thinner than a Strat). I've got one that was made for the Japanese market called the "New Archtop Soloist" (NASL) that is the same body shape (you'll notice the rear is different than a regular Soloist), but these didn't last very long (2 years maybe?)
The regular-shaped Archtop Soloists were more popular (and still are, like the SLAT). 1996-1997 or 98 I think
But if it plays better than my NASL, it'll be a miracle

Re: USA SLS WOOHOO!

Cool, I sent the guy some emails as I was interested as well, I just figured I may as well wait till my financial situation is sorted out first.

Usa Jackson for 500$. Gotta love this buyers market!

Be sure to let us know how that neck profile feels!

Congrats, Newc! Not my particular cup 'o' tea, but it appears to be right up your alley.

THat's a great score...I didn't even know those existed in that color. I would prefer cherry sunburst but that's nice too.

Is the fretboard ebony though?? Looks kinda light in the picture.

I don't understand how that guitar and how the JJ's get no interest at $500.

Is it cuz they dont got sharkfins or floyds? crazy!

Is a used PRS 3x better than that guitar?

that guitar to me is like a hot chick without implants haha

Congrats Newc!! Yes Gus, the SLS and JJ2 get dissed, but I have a JJ2 Jones going right now and would love to have one, epecially in Natural mahogany or trans Cherry or anything with the trans color as they have the mahogany body and the solids and graphics have the alder body.
